What People Are Saying About Golden Outfitters LLC

“I booked an elk hunt and had Caje as my guide. I’ve been on a few guided hunts, and I can say that Caje is very motivated and will work very hard for his clients. He is very driven, and will not accept anything less than 100% from himself and his clients. I was more than pleased with his efforts and could tell how passionate he was towards the hunt, and fulfilling his clients needs. I would absolutely recommend anyone looking for a fun hunt and a hard working guide to look him up… He’s a class act.”

“From the first time I talked with Caje, I found him to be very easy to talk to, knowledgeable and available to answer lots of questions (I probably called him 20 times). Another reason I chose Caje is because he’s an accomplished bow hunter (ask to see a picture of his monster bull elk he shot with a bow) who understands the nuances of hunting with a bow vs a rifle. From the beginning of our hunt, one thing that stood out to me was Caje’s ability to spot game with or without a spotting scope. I must have asked him a million times to show me where he was looking at. From the first day of our hunt, Caje demonstrated his guiding expertise by getting me within bow range of A LOT of cow elk and antelope… and if it wasn’t for a bad shot, I would have tagged out on the first day. I didn’t think it was possible to have so many close encounters in a single day. To say the least, I was really impressed with Caje’s ability to do a variety of things really well, like predicting thermal air currents and calling in a large herd of cow elk with just a whistle. One endearing thing I enjoyed about Caje was that he was always excited to enthusiastically share our daily hunting stories with his family. That showed me the joy of hunting runs deep in the Golden family. And… that Caje relishes guiding, even if he’s not the one pulling the trigger. After I shot my cow elk with a well setup .280 Remington, Caje asked me, “...my hands are shaking, are your hands shaking?”. I got a good laugh out of that! To sum it up, Caje Golden is the real deal. I like him as a person and especially like him as a guide. He demonstrated his guiding expertise, fitness, and personal motivation to see me succeed on many occasions. I feel like finding a great guide is a difficult and expensive journey, but for me, that search is over. My next guided hunt will be with Caje Golden.

To say hunting big Mule Deer with Caje Golden is an experience of a lifetime would be an understatement. I had set up an Eastern Montana Mule Deer hunt in the Miles City. Mt area. After meeting Caje I said let’s have some real fun and we hit it off pretty quickly. I told him I wanted to have the best opportunity to see and hunt a great muley and that I was willing to do what it took to do my part. It was day two, just after first good light when Caje caught the silhouetted body of a big muley some two plus miles off. Caje turned and said saddle up – we are going to have to go right at him – there was a “matter of fact” calmness and confidence in his voice. The epic hunt of my life was beginning and there was just no doubt this was gonna be epic. We had so much fun throughout the day chasing this big boy and Caje kept us right on him. We called in does, we put sneak after sneak on him around buttes and across many canyons. Caje kept us in the hunt yet this old buck wouldn’t give us a shot. He was there and then he wasn’t – a real ghost of the badlands. Finally, after seven hours, ridge and canyon after ridge and canyon and over nine miles through very tough country we got within my shooting capability. Laying my .270 Kimber across Caje’s backpack we took the 347yard shot. We both saw the telltale rear legs kick way high over his head and off to the side. 30 yards later from where shot him he came to rest piled up overlooking a shear drop off – so lucky he stayed on the ridge. Throughout the day days hunt Caje was the professional guide one always hopes they are lucky enough to hunt with and is someone that will make the hunt safe and experience we all dream about. Cannot wait till we can do it again. This buck was every bit and more Caje’s as mine. It is great to share a hunting memory and a deer scoring 187+ inches with a great guide like Caje. Thank you
